Itel brand announced its flagship Itel IT1516 smartphone in September 2016 but was officially released to the public on 14th October 2016. The smartphone is already in Nigeria, check out the unboxing of the smartphone and review below.

Design/Body and Build
The Itel 1516 device is a beautiful phone in terms of design. it features curved edges, plastic built. Above the screen, you have the earpiece in the middle of the front facing camera and flash, as well as proximity and ambient light sensors.
The power botton can be seen below the volume bottons on the right hand side while nothing is on the left frame of the device.
The top have a 3.5mm audio jack while the charger port and mic is located at the bottom of the phone.
At the back, lies the camera setup along with a LED flash while the loud speaker lies at the bottom left of the back.
There’s a 5000 mAh non-removable battery that is covered with its plastic built.
Display and Camera
The Itel 1516 Plus device packs a 5.0” Display but a poor resolution of 480*854. Also, an inbuilt font manager can be seen in the display settings which lets users change font type to their taste.
In terms of camera, It features camera, video and scenery which lets you take photos into a particular scene. A 5.0MP rear camera with upto 1952*2592 resolution and a 2.0MP front camera with a resolution of 1600*1200. Led flash is also spotted on both the front and back. The camera is not actually large for the selfie/camera lovers but it aint bad afterall. See Some photos taken with it below.

Software and Memory
In terms of memory, Itel made a major improvement here, unlike most of its devices which featured 512MB RAM, this device comes with 1GB . Though not what people want these days but its still an improvement. A not large internal memory of 8GB can be found in this device and can be upgraded with Micro SD upto 32GB. The device is clocked at 1.2GHz quad-core processor and like other Itel devices, features a Mediatek chipset.
Network and connectivity
The device comes with wireless connectivities such as 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, WIfi and GPS. Accelerator and proximity sensor, a micro USB3.0 interface, micro usb charging connection, and a 3.5mm headphone connection. The device is bundled with GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA, GPRS/EDGE: 900/1800, WCDMA: 900/2100. No 4G LTE here.. This device comes in dual sim standby which lets you use two sim cards in it at the same time.
With a massive battery capacity of 5000mAh, The phone will get heavy users through an entire day of use and it supports fast charging as well. However, users won’t be getting a fast charger in the box and they will need to buy it separately. The device was released on 14th October 2016 and pricing is clocked at a recommended retail price of 24,500. Though there you should expect a higher price from most retail outlets.
